Have you ever baked your own homemade horse treats? They are a fun way to make treats, and as a bonus, you know exactly what is in the treats - and they are fresh!
Preheat your oven to 350 F. Pour molasses into bowl or small container. Cut bread into shapes with cookie cutters. You can also simply cut the bread into small 3 inch x 3 inch squares if you do not have cookie cutters.
Dip the bread in the molasses, allow it to soak for 5-10 minutes. Then place the bread on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle sugar ontop of the bread.
Bake at 350 F for one hour. Remove from oven, allow to cool before feeding.
Got a horse that is on a low sugar diet? Substitute sugar free pancake syrup instead of molasses, and replace the sugar with a small amount of ground cinnamon.
